Euro 2016 kicks off in France on 10th June 2016 and runs through to 10th July 2016. For the first time, the competition will consist of 24 teams rather than the usual 16.
A record 53 teams will compete to be involved in the Euro 2016 Finals. Qualifying fixtures begin on 7th September 2014, with the last qualifying game on 13th October 2015. The 53 teams have been split into 9 groups of five or six that play each other home and away. The nine winners and runners-up of each group as well the best third place team automatically qualify for the finals. The remaining 8 third place teams compete in 2-leg play-offs that take place 12th-17th November 2015. As hosts, France qualify automatically.
